Cllrs Sophie Thornton, Simon Clement-Jones and Richard Shaw are campaigning for better CCTV in Jordanthorpe after we were told that replacing it at the local council office by Jordanthorpe shops was “too expensive”.
The Labour-Green run council say it will cost £20,000 to upgrade the CCTV, yet the current system is analogue and unfit for purpose. The money being on the current system is a waste.
Better CCTV will help make the area safer - recently there was a firework attack on a child on Batemoor Road and catching the culprits would be easier with CCTV that was up to standard.
