Ecclesall and Abbeydale Road 'red routes'
A 12-hour 7am – 7pm ‘red route’ bus lane could operate on Ecclesall Road and Abbeydale Road under new plans proposed by Sheffield City Council. Please fill in the survey below and leave your email address to stay up to date on the plans.
The proposed plan would stop residents, shoppers, and all other vehicles from parking, stopping, or waiting on between 7am and 7pm every day of the week. The rules currently in place suspend stopping between 7am - 9:30am and 4:00pm - 6:30pm Monday - Friday.
The full plan can be seen HERE.
Since being announced, the plan has met widespread criticism from local traders who worry about the impact it will have on their business. But also some local residents have contacted me concerned about the impact on parking. A a local councillor for the area, I need to hear from you. Please complete the short survey to let me know your views.
It is extremely important for the city to improve bus routes but this needs to be done holistically with all views taken on board. We cannot rush into decisions that might have worked elsewhere – one size doesn’t fit all. That’s why its really important that you have input on these plans. Please do complete the survey and have your say.
