Introducing food waste recycling in Sheffield will have the same positive impact as taking 86,000 cars off the roads.

Sheffield has a real opportunity to help tackle the climate crisis. When food rots it releases methane, a greenhouse gas 25 times more potent than carbon dioxide. That’s why the Lib Dems want to introduce food waste recycling in Sheffield. Read more here.

The Lib Dems recently won a vote in the Town Hall to introduce a trial – but unfortunately the Labour/Green coalition have now delayed it until 2023 - when they are legally required to bring it in anyway.

⬇️ Sign the petition below calling for its implementation as soon as possible. ⬇️

We, the undersigned, call upon Sheffield City Council to implement a trial food waste collection scheme with a view to roll out the scheme permanently as soon as possible.
