Last December, parents received a phone call to say that their daughter had been injured in a road traffic accident while walking to school. She suffered multiple fractures to her leg and wrist and was in plaster for 8 weeks.
The Council have refused to employ a crossing warden as they have said the road is too dangerous. They have also refused to put a crossing in place.
Doing nothing is not an option
When this was raised at a council meeting, Labour's cabinet member responsible said "I propose to do nothing." This is not acceptable.
We need a crossing on Hangingwater Road to ensure no one else is injured while going to school.
