The Labour Town Hall have forced through a vote which will see up to 95% of money generated locally, spent elsewhere.
Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), is money the council receives from developers when they build new homes or shops. Across most of England 15% of CIL money is given back to local communities to spend on local priorities such as new pedestrian crossings on roads.
Labour have decided to take nearly all of the money from development in our area to spend elsewhere in the city!

We, the undersigned, disagree with the Town Hall taking away nearly all of money generated locally. We believe that more money generated locally from new developments should be used locally to help the communities affected by the development. We therefore call upon Sheffield City Council to scrap their plans and implement a fairer way to handle community monies.
