Meadowgreen Surgery

There are plans to move the local Meadowgreen Health Centre at the Old School on School Lane and the one on Lowedges Road to Jordanthorpe.

At the moment, the current sites are not suitable. They provide an extremely valuable service but they’re not up to modern standards. But I don’t think moving the surgeries to Jordanthorpe will help the situation. If you rely on public transport, you will find it difficult to get to Jordanthorpe.

The proposed location will be over a mile away for most residents and is not accessible by regular public transport – I just don’t think this is good enough.

We are calling for two things:

  1. Sheffield City Council to find any possible locations closer to the current locations.
  2. If there are no possible new locations, we need public transport for the hundreds of local residents who will have to travel to Jordanthorpe.
