COST OF LIVING CRISIS:

Lib Dems demand action for local people

The Lib Dems are calling for an energy price freeze paid for by a windfall tax on massive energy company profits. We're also calling for the council to set an emergency budget to protect local services from more cuts. Will you back our campaign?

As energy bills and mortgage costs continue to soar, more and more people are struggling to make ends meet. Many feel that they are being left behind.

While families - our friends and neighbours - struggle, the energy companies have raked in record profits.

The Lib Dems have called for a windfall tax on massive energy company profits. Money generated would go on keeping bills down, insulating homes, and investing in renewables so we’re never in this situation again.

Not only have the national Government not acted quick enough or strongly enough, the Labour-run City Council have nearly bankrupted our city - risking severe cuts to services we all rely on.

The Liberal Democrats are urging all parties in the Town Hall to work together quickly; otherwise we risk bankruptcy and Tory Government officials taking Sheffield City Council over.

We've seen the mess the Conservatives have caused nationally. We really can't risk that happening locally as well.

So many people are struggling at the moment. We cannot afford to make it worse with cuts to vital local services. We worked together during Covid and we can do it again now. Let's put our city first.
