Dear Prime Minister,

At a time of deep instability in the Middle East, the United Kingdom must show calm, independent leadership.

President Trump’s actions risk escalating conflict, increasing instability and driving up costs for families here at home. This is not the moment to reward him with the honour of a State Visit.

A visit from the King would hand Donald Trump a major diplomatic boost and send entirely the wrong message. Britain should not be seen to endorse reckless foreign policy that threatens peace and security.

We urge you to advise His Majesty that the proposed State Visit to the United States should be called off.

Britain must stand for diplomacy, restraint and an independent foreign policy, not gestures that legitimise conflict.
