We are writing to you formally in our capacity as the three Liberal Democrat City Councillors representing Stannington Ward in Sheffield, to request your urgent intervention regarding an outstanding grid connection for our new community pavilion.

The construction and physical fit-out of the new pavilion are now essentially complete. However, the site remains unusable and final touches incomplete because we are awaiting Northern Powergrid to complete the final grid connection and energise the electricity supply.

The completion of this project is of paramount importance to our local community. It will provide:

• A Vital Youth Services Hub: The pavilion is designated to host youth groups, structured activity programmes, and local support networks for young people.
• A Key Community Asset: It is designed to serve as an essential multi-generational hub for local residents, sports clubs, and community organisations.

This project has been over 4 years in the making. Physical construction and internal works are virtually complete, and the installation of the electricity supply is the sole remaining obstacle preventing the facility from opening its doors.

We appreciate that network connections require technical rigour and safety compliance, but the current delay in finalising this power connection is holding back a major community resource. We ask that Northern Powergrid treat this case as a matter of urgency and expedite the scheduling of the final connection works.

We would be grateful if your team could provide a confirmed date by which the connection will be energised, or contact us directly to resolve any outstanding technical matters.
