Tree saga: Councillors must be held responsible

The recently released inquiry into the shameful street tree felling saga has revealed a serious and sustained failure of strategic leadership - responsibility for which ultimately rests with the political leadership, in particular the relevant Cabinet member and the Council Leader.

The Labour council bullied its residents and attempted to mislead the courts. They put our city our city on the map for all the wrong reasons. Those in charge at the time need to be held accountable.

That's why we're calling on Councillor Terry Fox and Councillor Bryan Lodge to resign.

They were in charge during the scandal, and they're still in leadership positions now. Councillor Terry Fox is the Council Leader and Councillor Bryan Lodge is the Chair of Finance. Both still hold considerable influence over the Labour-led council.

Misleading the public and the courts by putting out false information and bullying protesters became the norm at Sheffield City Council. This is ultimately a failure of culture and should not be accepted by the residents of Sheffield. Those responsible need to go.

Please back our call and let's give Sheffield a fresh start.

SIGN PETITION: Councillors must be held responsible

It's time to give Sheffield a fresh start and ensure that this behavior is never repeated again. We call on Councillors Terry Fox and Bryan Lodge to resign immediately - if you agree, then please join us in signing our petition today!
